Here at Gorilla Pay, we wanted to do things very differently from others in our industry.

This page provides our comprehensive FAQs. We cover everything that is unique to our services and go into a lot of very transparent detail. 

FAQs - Payments

The truth is it is only complicated because most of the people who operate in this industry make it that way. Essentially all card payments should cost almost the same.

 

Here is a ready reckoner to give you an idea:

 

0.6 % per transaction for all variants of Visa and Master card. Debit and Credit card. That is made up of:

 

Interchange.

 

This is the charge levied by the scheme (Visa) as a commission for their handling of the transaction. 0.250%  0.270%.

 

Plus 1                   

 

This is the charge levied by the acquiring bank as a commission for their handling of the transaction. 0.175%.

 

Plus 2                  

  

This is the charge levied by (Gorilla Pay) as a commission for providing our service. 0.175% (ours is capped at £25.00 per month).

 

What this means to you:

 

£10,000 in transactions (Will Attract) £60 of transaction charges and a rebate from Gorilla Pay of £0.00.

 

£15,000 in transactions (Will Attract) £90  of transaction charges and a rebate from Gorilla Pay of £1.25.

 

£20,000 in transactions (Will Attract) £120 of transaction charges and a rebate from Gorilla Pay of £10.00.

 

£25,000 in transactions (Will Attract) £150  of transaction charges and a rebate from Gorilla Pay of £18.75.

 

£30,000 in transactions (Will Attract) £180 of transaction charges and a rebate from Gorilla Pay of £27.50.

 

The only variable here is an authorisation fee which is charged for each Transaction at £0.04p Obviously if you make 1000 transactions at 4p you will pay £40 if you have a high transaction value and only make 100 transactions you will only pay £4.00.

 

The only other charge is your monthly membership charge of £25.

 

THAT’S IT! SIMPLE REALLY. 

 

THERE IS NO CATCH.

Of course the answer is yes. What ever works best for you. Let us know 7 days before the end of the month that you will not need the terminal, then return it to us before the 5th working day of the next month and we will suspend all charges on that particular terminal.

 

Tell us that you need a terminal again. We’ll have one to you within 48 hours and restart your membership. Once you have got past the first 60 days you can pop the terminals  in and out like library books.

 

THERE IS NO CATCH.

The initial charge is different depending on the equipment you require. It is a contribution to the cost of the equipment and the administration to set up the account.

 

They range from £150 for a gateway or a hand held mobile device, to £250 for a Payment terminal and £700 for a full epos deployment.

 

This cost can be paid  over 30, 60 or 90 days. It is not a profit making exercise but gives us the flexibility to offer 30 day rolling agreements that don’t tie you in.

 

Please remember the pledge, if during the first 60 days you are not 100% satisfied we will return this payment.

 

THERE IS NO CATCH.

No, as long as you send back the terminal, there are no charges until you tell us that you want it back. Then we send one out and you start again and for the avoidance of doubt you do not need to pay the Initial payment again.

FAQs - Merchant Terminals

It is very simple, when you unpack the box there will be a step by step guide to help you. It will take no longer that five minutes.

Yes, we do offer a managed install service. It is not included in the prices quoted, but we can arrange for a Gorilla to do the install for you. For customers within a 50 mile radius of the office the charge is £100 for up to 3 terminals and £25 per terminal thereafter. For every additional 50 miles of travel there is a further £25.00 cost.

From time to time your terminal will need information and software updates. This will be completed over night and the information pushed to it via the internet and The terminals Wi-Fi connectivity.

The short answer is within 24 hrs for the mainland UK. The real answer is, that there is no point getting a terminal to you if you cannot use it. The thing that tends to hold everything up is the speed that you get the documentation and information together that the banking system require to approve your application.

If your terminal stops working for any reason we will get a replacement to you within 24 hrs of you letting us know.

Things to note

  • NEVER TRY TO OPEN THE TERMINAL TO REPAIR IT
  • If the terminal is damaged we will charge you either for it’s repair which has a maximum charge of £125
  • If the terminal is broken beyond economical repair your maximum charge will be equal to your initial membership charge
  • If the terminal is under warranty and we find that it is faulty, obviously we will carry the can

Please remember this is a computer and it must be looked after as you would a computer. You cant put them in a dishwasher and they don’t react well to being thrown around and dropped. It’s not the end of the world if it is broken, what is important is that we get you up and running, taking money as quickly as we can.

The best thing to do is to phone one of our Gorilla’s, answer all of his questions and have your last merchant services bill to hand when you call. Once we have all the information that we need we'll give you our best steer. Alternatively fill out our webform and attach a current bill and we’ll let you know.

FAQs - E-Commerce Gateways

Yes of course, our Payment gateway solution offers a range of business specific options such as the ability to implement one click check outs, returning customer bonus and loyalty programmes and much more. We have what ever technical information that your website developer will need to make this gateway a part of any website.

Our solutions are simple plug ins that work with nearly all websites and nearly all shopping carts. Before you get too far down the line, give us a call or drop us an email. Give us the details of your current or desired set up and well help you or your web developer implement the best solution.

You must have a terms of use page. They are freely available on line. Please read them before you use them, although they are fairly generic there are some subtle differences between specific business sectors. It is always better to get a legal team to check them before you use them.

Historically these payments have been more expensive because they are considered to be Card Holder Not Present payments. Obviously with Gorilla Pay that is not the case and the transaction charges are exactly the same. There is a small cost of set up and a small monthly software charge for the gateway itself.

Of course not, like everything else in this industry, the people who sell it make it sound complicated so that they can charge you. This is how it works The clue is in the title “Plugin”

 

Once your application has been accepted you will receive an email from us. In that email is a bearer token, an ID and a step by step instruction guide of how to install it. Anyone who can build a website will have the necessary skill set to plug it in.

FAQs - Cancellation

I think that there is a question that you should probably ask yourself here. HOW ON EARTH CAN THEY DO THAT?

 

The answer is very simple, they must be making more than £3000 from your account. If you stay with Gorilla Pay for three years the most that we will earn is half of that figure. Let that sink in. They are projecting that if you are one of their customers they can afford to give £3000 away.

 

They are not charitable organisations, don’t be duped you pay for it one way or another.  Please talk to us we will help you through the jungle and find the best way forward that doesn’t mean you spending more money than you need to.

We are so confident in our products and offering that we have written and stand by the Gorilla Pay Pledge.

If, within the first 60 days of choosing Gorilla Pay, you are not 100% satisfied.

Our pledge to you is:

Return the equipment [in good condition obviously] , and we will refund 100% of your full initial membership charges. So ,that means, the only charges we'll ask you to pay is, the cost of getting the equipment to you and the cost of getting it back.

It gets better:

After this initial 60 day period, you can stop using our service, whenever you choose without giving us any reason.  Just return our equipment [in good condition obviously], give us a call and you are free to leave with ZERO penalties.

Does this mean we'll lose money if you cancel? Yes we will!

Does that worry us? No!

The reason we are not worried is, because the deal we're offering is so damn good, the chances of you cancelling are almost non-existent.

FAQs - Getting Started

Business

  • Company Name
  • Company registration number (not required for sole trader)
  • Proof of business banking (statement or letter) no more than six months old
  • Proof of business address (Utility Bill) no more than six months old
  • Link to Website (If you require a payment gateway)

 

Personal

  • for every person that has shares in the business of 25% or more
  • Copy of passport
  • Home address
  • Email address.
  • Date Of Birth

That is enough to get the coconuts rolling.

Once we have all the information that we need the application can be turned around in 48 hours by the bank who will then send you an e-sign. Once that is completed the terminal will be with you within 24 hrs.

 

What we find is that the hold ups usually occur because it takes a while for you to pull together the info that we need. Once we have what we need it is pretty slick.
